A Day in Hogsmeade
Tiffany stood outside the gate to the castle, waiting for Jack Miller. They had made plans to visit Hogsmeade today, and she was excited to see him again. She felt like they had hit it off rather well in Charms class earlier, and hoped that things would continue in a similar manner.

She had intentionally arrived a few minutes earlier, to ensure enough time to look good, even in this windy weather. Her new robes flopped about in the breeze, despite her best attempts at a wind repelling charm. Taking cover behind one of the massive gate posts, she leaned against it in quiet anticipation. She had heard the small village was full of treats for a pair of young students, and was sure that they'd find something worthwhile to do there. "Not that being in his company isn't entirely worthwhile on it's own..." She thought with a chuckle.

RE: A Day in Hogsmeade
Jack hurried out of the castle, determined not to be late for what could be called his first date at Hogwarts. As he rushed through the corridors he couldn't help but wonder about what had happened with Lilli, but he was determined to set her out of his mind. At least Tiffany wasn't quite so unpredictable, nevermind scary. He had taken his time to dress for the occasion, but his efforts had been covered up by the copious layers he had been forced to wear to combat the freezing cold. Trying to disguise his being largely out of breath, he burst into a grin as he spotted the girl he was looking for. "Hey Tiffany!" he called, calming himself down before striding confidently towards her. "So," he said, rubbing his hands together with anticipation. "Ready to go?"

Tiffany smiled and greeted Jack with a light one armed hug. "Hey Jack! Am I ready to go? You bet I am!" Tiffany said standing up and moving away from the gate. "So, Hogsmeade is just a little ways down this way?" She asked, motioning down the road.

She could already feel the butterflies rising in her stomache, and struggled to keep her cool. This was her first date in such a long time. And it had been years since she had put herself out there like that. Hogwarts was a chance for her to leave her old baggage behind, and reinvent herself. She was not going to blow it, and build a reputation as some kind of nut job.

"Glad to hear it," he replied, closing his eyes briefly as he tried to remember the directions that he had been given. "Yeah, couple of minutes walk, if that's cool with you." He set off down the road slowly, Tiffany in tow. Although he hadn't been with a girl for quite a while - preparations for Hogwarts had seen to that - he could already feel himself slipping comfortably into it. Not to say that he wasn't nervous, but he was keeping himself largely under control.

RE: A Day in Hogsmeade
"It's more than cool, it's cold!" She joked, setting off down the road wit him, thoughts already trailing back to the last time she had been in a situation like this. A stormy spring day, a quiet stroll by the lake near her house with Sean. The day that she lost him. "No, no, no, and no again." She thought, determined to turn the page at Hogwarts. And besides, something about Jack was different. She couldn't place it yet, but she knew it when she felt it.

"So what's in Hogsemeade anyways? I've heard plenty of people mention a candy store, but that's about it." She asked, curious to find out what they'd be up to today. Of course, all she really needed was a warm place and good company to be happy, and with Jack she was already half way there, she realized with a smile.

OOC: Sean? He's not in your profile.

IC: "It is, isn't it," he said, recognising the chance to be gentlemanly and taking it before Tiffany could resist, unbuttoning his topmost coat and placing it over her shoulders, along with his arms as he gently pulled her in towards him. "Oh, loads of stuff," he replied, trying to recall what he had seen on his last trip. "They make this great Butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks, really warms you up. Can't wait for that day," he blew out to make his point, the moisture condensing before him.

RE: A Day in Hogsmeade
OOC: I know, sorry about that. It came to me all of a sudden and I decided to go for it. I'm writing up an addition to that for later tonight. Or... tonight my time. :p

IC: Tiffany suddenly found Jack's arm around her shoulders, along with his coat. "Are you sure you aren't too cold?" She asked him, secretly thrilled that he had done this. "Five minutes in and I haven't ruined us yet," She thought, hopefully. "I guess we'd better hurry on over to this Three Broomsticks place, eh? A good warming up is exactly what we need right now," She said as a particularly hard gust of wind blue her hair into his face. "Sorry about that, I wonder if the weather is always this awfull," She said with a laugh.

RE: A Day in Hogsmeade
OOC: Sounds good ;). Bug Tool to approve it if I'm not around. Also don't forget to use the official application, or I will be left with no choice but to allow you to incur my wrath :D.

IC: "Oh, I've got enough on to warm up a small continent," he said cheerily, glad that she hadn't rejected his arm; that would have been a very bad sign. "Oh, yeah," he continued as he spotted the first building - a small cottage with a thatched roof, lit up with what looked like an enticing log fire. "We're almost there. I don't think it's normally this cold," he began to slow as he battled with the wind. "Or windy. So you've never been to the Three Broomsticks before?" he asked, find himself wanting to know about this girl.

RE: A Day in Hogsmeade
OOC: Not the wrath! D:

IC: "Ahh yes! I bet we're almost there," She said, voice full of glee. "Nope, I've never been to Hogsmeade at all, strange as that may be. I grew up in a small wizard's village near Diagon Alley, just large homes full of uppety rich people mostly. My parents tended to keep me on a pretty short leash, it was only last year that I was even allowed to go to Diagon Alley with my friends. And let me tell you, those were some of the best days of my life right there. What about you, where'd you grow up?"

Another gust of wind buffeted the two of them, and Tiffany decided to take action. Grabbing the arm around her shoulder, she tugged on it playfully, "C'mon!" She shouted before he had time to repsond to her question, pulling them into a light trot.

RE: A Day in Hogsmeade
Soon the number of houses had grown, and other people were rushing past them, their heads buried against the wind. He spotted one couple engaged in a passionate kiss in an alleyway they passed, wondering how relevant they would prove. "Hmm, I know what you mean," he turned back to Tiffany. "I suppose I was kinda the opposite. Lived in central London; city boy through and through, I am. My parents couldn't wait to get rid of me!" he teased.

Jack caught up with Tiffany's pace, glad for the movement as it warmed his body up. "We'll be there soon," he said eventually as they turned on to the main road.
