A wrong turn?
Role Playing as Kayla Blake Kayla slipped down towards Knockturn Alley. She looked around nervously. It wasn't as if she'd never been here before but it had usually been with her Grandfather or he had at least known where she was going. She wouldn't be doing this normally but some ingredients were hard to get hold off. She walked with her head up and her gaze level the moment she stepped past the sign saying 'Knockturn Alley'. The trick was to act confident. Not in the sense of being wealthy, but confident enough to look like you could seriously harm someone if they so much as touched you. ![]() |

RE: A wrong turn?
Role Playing as Evan Koth Evan kept his head firmly down, knowing exactly what stigma was attached to any student who dared enter Knockturn Alley. Nevertheless, despite all the security Hogwarts promised it had proved to be a dangerous place and Evan wanted to be well prepared for anything that might come his way in the future. He glanced up at the street sign quickly before burying his head back below the folds of his oversized coat, relieved to have come this far without either being discovered or apprehended. 'Knockturn Alley' it read - perfect. He took a heavy step forwards towards the alley, and found himself walking straight into a girl. "Oh, sorry," he muttered, turning away before he could get a look at who exactly he had walked into.

RE: A wrong turn?
Kayla instinctively checked her pockets for her belongings after being barged into. She glared at him. "Watch where you're going!" She bit out and shook her head at him. After a brief second she looked back at him and blinked. He looked familiar. "Evan?" She whispered as it dawned on her and took a step away from him quickly. What was he doing in Knockturn Alley?

RE: A wrong turn?
Evan turned away from the harsh words, unwilling to provoke a fight in a situation such as this. But then he hears his name. "How do you... Kayla?" he stammered, looking up to take in the girl for the first time. "It's..." he paused, unsure how to continue or what to say, but knowing that he should really say something. "What are you doing here?" he eventually said, regretting the words as they left his mouth - he wasn't exactly expecting a reply, but he needed to say something.

RE: A wrong turn?
Kayla's hand slipped the pocket where her wand was. "...I got lost." She lied. It was an obvious lie because she obviously knew her way around and if you were lost you wouldn't yell at someone for bumping you, you'd ask them for help. She didn't care about how false her response was, she wasn't going to tell him why she was in the worst area of the shopping area.

RE: A wrong turn?
Evan noticed that Kayla was slowly reaching for her wand and he did the same, knowing that vital seconds could be saved by doing so. Without even noticing it, Evan automatically dropped into a fighting stance, balancing himself on the balls of his feet as he decided on what to do. His conversation with Mosden flashed before him - it really had been over nothing - but images of Lilli kept invading the reason; images of her blood covering her - all at the hands of the girl before him. "Did you?" he replied, his teeth clenching slightly.

RE: A wrong turn?
There was a breath as she gained control over herself. "...No. But you know I'm not going to answer you with the truth. Just like you wouldn't if I asked you the exact same question." Kayla replied rationally. He was remembering the last time, the same as her. Pretty much the same images flickered through her mind. "I'm not going to apologise again for what happened. We were all to blame for it. Moving on is the best thing we could do."
Neither student noticed something lurking around in the shadows of this shadowy street. ![]() |

RE: A wrong turn?
"Better," Evan countered quickly, covering up his genuine surprise at this reply perfectly. He was getting good at this. "But did nobody teach you that lying was bad?" he replied hypocritically, nevertheless pressing on. But before he did, he paused for a moment. His instincts were tingling. He spun round, ignoring Kayla for a moment, but there was nothing there. His instincts were never wrong, and he had learned to trust in that. "You must understand that moving on is difficult for me. Especially if you're trying to apportion me blame for what you did," he said quicker than absolutely necessary, feeling he needed to say this but also that he needed to be alert of other happenings in the street.

RE: A wrong turn?
"What you did was worse." Kayla muttered under her breathe and her eyes glittered. Why was he looking around? "And my grandfather taught me that lying is a neccessity that is often given a bad name usually by people who are terrible at lying or get lied to a lot." She said curtly.

RE: A wrong turn?
"It was," Evan admitted. "But I was driven by madness," he continued truthfully. "That sight before me... I can't even describe how I was thinking at the time," he averted his eyes, unsure why he was relieving the whole event all over again. "So you really don't have any honour. Because from what I gathered you tried to twist Mosden's mind against me, and not only that but made him promise not to talk to me about it. It was obvious, but he would never have broken his word," he spat, not surprised by this new revelation.
