A plan of action

A plan of action
DCF is in its 6th year. And when Daniel left me in charge I believed I could handle this alone. I was wrong, and I have failed you guys, and the DCF as a whole.

I regret the actions I took that allowed this to happen. They should not have happened, and I am sorry for this.

However, I am not just a man who says "I made a mistake, good bye". No, I am a man who will admit he's made a mistake, but will help with any solution deemed necessary to fix it.

I am listening, and I am ready. What do you want me to do?

RE: A plan of action
I don't think that the lack of activity on these boards is your fault in particular, however I am glad you have posted this thread up. What we really need is a sudden infusion of active members, whether new or old, to give the boards new momentum. Of course, we have tried advertising before and it hasn't done us too much good...

RE: A plan of action
I wonder whether, with the 8th and final film due to be released later this month, we could capitalise on the surge of reminisance and stuff people will feel/want to do following the end of an era?

RE: A plan of action
That's another issue - the new film really brings the whole Harry Potter era to an end. That could be harmful, but as you said, if we maybe push the forums in some film discussion boards or something, we could benefit from it.

RE: A plan of action
We have 2 weeks yesterday. We need to think hard and act fast. Otherwise... this is going to fall and fail. I almost think we need to go back to the olden ways and start again, from DCF's V1 rules/things.

RE: A plan of action
Well, I don't recall much of DCF v1 (was I even there?) so could you elaborate?

RE: A plan of action
It was just the terms of role play, you didn't have to go through character registration/jump through as many hoops to actually start.

RE: A plan of action
Yeah, I do think that the current system, while it does have its positives, must be a big put-off to new members. But what could the alternative be? Perhaps suspend the points system?

RE: A plan of action
Suspend the points system and simplify the character registration process. Take it from X steps to B steps (down), making it quicker to go from registering -> playing. We need to start the push middle of next week when we do... maybe a competition as well, to entice old members back?

"In honour of the final film UTS is holding an XYZ blah blah blah."

What do you think?
