Mosden's detention

RE: Mosden's detention
Role Playing as Tool Box

"I see." replied Tool, still carrying no emotion on his voice. "Tell me though, if you had seen the future, through one means or another, and you had a chance to change it, for the better, would you not use everything in your path to do so? I am old, yes, getting too old to continue playing the chess game that we are on, but we are still on one, and until someone comes, to relieve me of my duties, I will continue to do my duty. You'll notice, that I have never let a student be harmed in my lessons. I have never let a student be harmed outside of Hogwarts. No matter what I've done, you children have always been safe.

RE: Mosden's detention
"What future could be governed by the need to torture a ministry official in front of teens? I don't know you well enough to trust you with something like my future, and what I do know is jaded and already puts you in the bad. If I could right a wrong I would, but again, what wrong could you be righting to need such measures and actions?" Mosden looked at him, forcing his voice to stay even and eyes to stay in contact. It was hard for him to, but he couldn't stand down. He knew that showing weakness would just make things worse.

"There is no harm in speaking your mind, Mosden. However, it would not do well to attempt to stall me in my plans. Did William not speak of the day time stood still, of the day his magic was taken from him, along with mine? As is always the case in wizarding worlds, you need to chose your sides, and I fear you will have to choose rather quickly. I urge you to see what I see. You have been tainted by William's misgivings of me. But let that not spoil your thoughts now. You need only to see what's in front of you. To know when is the best time to defend an attack. The second lesson, is not the right time to do that. My job, is to train you all up in defense. Part of that, is teaching you when it is best to sit back, and let things unfold. Does that make sense?"

RE: Mosden's detention
Mosden scowled. Only need to see whats in front of you? If you wanted to be a pawn, maybe. "Why do I have to choose a side? What sides are there to choose from? I have no reason to be here! The only reason I'm sitting here with you is because my guardian decided there was something about Hogwarts that I'd learn more from." Mosden stood, anger lining his features. "I don't need more than one old man manipulating me, Tool. So unless you manage to change my opinion of you, let me be a student rather than another pawn." He seethed, his heart beating rapidly. Tool reminded him too much of William, someone he was glad to be rid of.

Tool laughed gently.
"You are clouded by your emotions. Of course you need to choose sides. Everyone chooses a side sooner or later. You need to see that you can trust me. You may not like me, you may not like the things I do, but you need to see that you can trust me to do the right thing."

RE: Mosden's detention
Mosden sat there, silent for a couple moments, before sighing. "Convince William I should do as you say or else I'll have nothing to do with this. The only reason I'm here is because of him anyway. Unless you have something else you want to talk to me about or are planning to hold me prisioner, I'd like to leave. I still have homework I need to do."

"I will send him an owl. You however will do 5000 lines. 'I must not disobey an instruction.' You can begin now."
Tool started to write his owl to William after handing Mosden some parchment and a quill.

RE: Mosden's detention
Mosden gave a foul look at the though of doing lines before setting to work. His handwriting was sharp and cursive, not sloppy but still hard to read. It took him awhile before he finally finished, laying down the quill and massaging his hand. He looked up at Toolbox. "Do you have anything else I need to do before I go, sir?"

"Just one last thing." smiled Tool, also setting down his own quill having signed his letter to William. "Well, two things. Firstly, send this by Owl to William for me."
He handed over the letter.
"Secondly, write your own letter to William, asking him to tell you about the time he begged for my help, and despite the evil tendacies I have, I helped him. I suspect he hasn't been telling you the whole story. You may go. And in tomorrow's lesson, make sure you do as you're told."

RE: Mosden's detention
Mosden took the letter, stowing it away into his robe. A part of him wanted to read it, curious about what was inside. But an even bigger chunk didn't care. He listened to the order to write his own letter and he scowled, staying motionless for a moment, before nodding. He didn't want to talk to the old man, but he might as well. Without a word, he turned and left, closing the door behind him.
