Wink Someone Got Lucky
Role Playing as Lillin Meahra

Lilli walked into the empty classroom and took a look around, everything was covered in a thick layer of dust, the floor, the walls, everything. She coughed slightly as she stirred up the dust with her robes. Removing her wand from her robes she allowed her vampire abilities to seep through slightly, there was no point in her being tired for the start of this, after all she was supposed to be helping someone with their magic.
Muttering a spell under her breath the room began to tidy itself, the dust dissapearing through the open window and the curtains pulling back the let some light into the room.
As the spell finished she took another look round the cleaner room, it wasn't perfect but it would do.
Removing one of the tables that was stacked at the side of the room she put it in the centre and placed a few objects on and around the table, ready for Jack to use when he needed them.
Finishing only just before the time they were supposed to meet she replaced her wand into her cloak and leaned on a wall near where the teachers desk was supposed to be wondering whether he would actually turn up.

It's not easy to distinguish good from evil. Sinners can surprise you. And the same is true for saints. Why do we try to simply distinguish people as good or evil? Because no one wants to admit that compassion and cruelty can live side by side in one heart. And that anyone is capable of anything...

RE: Someone Got Lucky
Role Playing as Jack Miller

Jack turned up on the dot of the agreed time, slowly pushing the door open and childishly wondering if she had bothered to turn up at all. Inside, his heart flipped once more upon catching sight of the masterpiece before him; he must have been really lucky or something to find himself in this situation. "Heya Lilli," he said, remaining cool. "I just wanted to say before we start; thanks for doing this. I really appreciate it." He surveyed the discarded classroom before him, realising with a sense of awe that they must have been the first people in it for nigh on a hundred years.

Despite Lilli's best efforts to tidy the room, he could tell that it had been covered with dust but moments before. For a moment he wondered if the whole thing would just collapse in on him. That would certainly ruin his day.

RE: Someone Got Lucky
Lilli smiled at him, "Glad you actually turned up. Magic takes a lot out of me, so it isn't often I'd do this for someone but... You look like you need the help."

She turned away from him for a second and looked at the table, "I'll skip the boring parts of the lesson, like learning the history of the spells and where they came from, because they really annoy me sometimes. Once you've learned all that stuff the only thing you use it for is the exam, you don't start shouting at your attacker that you're going to use a spell that was created in so-and-so a year." Her voice remained calm and steady as she said this, as though she wasn't ranting about why spells annoyed her.
"Anyway, we'll start off with the Alohamora spell, it's pretty easy to start off with."
She showed him the wand technique and then produced the spell herself, casting a bright red light before putting it out and looking at him, "Now your turn, it's easier to start off with a white light at first, but once you become more adept at the spell then you can change the colour to something that suits your personality, for example mine's red and Evan's is green."

"I'm not sure if that's supposed to be a compliment or an insult," he smiled. "Sure, I don't need to know the history and stuff like that... it's the actual magic that I need the help with. Lumos, right," he prepared himself, trying to remember what he had learned about the spell in the previous lesson. He listened intently, looking up when she mentioned Evan. "Evan?" he asked, wondering if he had missed something. He remembered the other boy in Charms and wondered if she meant him; if so then perhaps he would solve this mystery once and for all.

RE: Someone Got Lucky
She looked at him when he asked about Evan, "Yeah, Evan, the green haired boy that sat next to me as well as you, and writes in green ink. Are you okay with doing the spell, let the magic flow."
Lilli stepped back and waited for him to perform the spell, although not the simplest of charms spells it was the easiest to master, "Once you get the hang of it I'll try teaching you how to change the colour, but when you do that, it's more about the feeling than the technique. It's like riding a bike. Once you get used to how to do it, you're not always thinking about what you're feet do. It's kind of the same with spells."

Although she presumed she had gotten off the topic of Evan she wondered whether he would ask about him again, she knew that she wouldn't slip up or make a mistake but she was worried about rumours spreading through school about her and Evan being together. It was a piece of information that could be used against her if someone so desired and already having 2 professors know this secret was enough for her.

RE: Someone Got Lucky
Jack flinched under her glare, deciding that it was better not to bring up the matter anymore. Nevertheless, it was obvious from the way that the words tumbled out of her mouth that there was something more going on between him and her. He immediately jumped to the most obvious conclusion, but dismissed it out of hand. Surely not...

He closed his eyes, trying to move his concentration back onto the spell. That was, after all, what he was here for. "Lumos!" Smoke erupted from his wand. Shaking his wand in frustration, he attempted the spell again. Realising that he was going about it in the wrong way, he forced himself to relax and put all other thoughts out of his mind. "Lumos!" this time, the light that erupted from his wand was identical in all but colour to that of Lilli. "I did it!" he said needlessly.

RE: Someone Got Lucky
She clapped and smiled at him, "Right, now try and keep it going for a bit. Just keep up your concentration for the moment and focus your magic." After a few minutes she nodded at him to let go of the spell, "That was pretty good, have you been practicing since the last time?"
Lilli raised her eyebrow and then took her wand out once more, "Right, I promised and you seem to have gotten the hang of it pretty quickly so maybe you'll get this one as well. Changing the colour of the spell is probably the hardest thing you'll do with it and probably the best advice I can give you is that you have to feel the magic and put your feelings into the spell, that's if you want to change it to a colour based on your emotions. Eventually you stick to your favourite colour, but for now just practice changing your emotions to change the colour. Then try focussing in your mind to change the colour. Emotional control creates a stronger colour but a duller light, whereas mental control creates a strong light and colour."

She came up beside him and held his arm, "I'm not going to hurt you, but... It's completely the same movement, just do what you did before and let your emotions take control."

RE: Someone Got Lucky
OOC: Just to confirm, by Alohomora you mean the light creating spell, right? As in Lumos? Alohomora is to open locks.

IC: Jack smiled to himself; it looked like his dedicated practice had paid off. "Thanks Lilli. Yeah, I have been trying what we did in Charms myself." Next up: changing colour. He nodded at Lilli's words, trying to take it all in and figure out how it would work in practice, but despite his best efforts he still wasn't quite sure what she meant. How did you put feeling into a spell? But these petty worries were immediately cast away when Lilli softly grabbed hold of his arm. A feeling like an electric shock went through him, but once again he maintained the perfect pokerface.

Stretching out his wand, he began to collect his thoughts and do his best to ensure that his mind remained control over his emotions; he couldn't risk let Lilli see what he was thinking there and then. "Lumos!" The room flashed blue, but he had been so determined to stop it burning red that it lasted under a second. He tried again; this time it lasted a little longer. Daring to play around a little, he slowly turned it to purple, before he lost control completely and it turned white again before dying away.

RE: Someone Got Lucky
OOC: yeah, sorry got the spells mixed up, i knew it was a bit off somewhere

IC: Lilli smiled at him, "Good try, but that isn't using your emotions, you're thinking about it too much. Loosen yourself and let your emotions take control of the magic. Good work on doing mental control though, it's a lot harder than emotional control."

A thought struck her then, "Here, Lumos" The light burned a strong greeny colour, depicting her current emotion. It didn't burn too bright though, "You see, you're light glowed so brightly and it was a strong colour at the same time. I can hold this for longer, but the light is not as bright, and it reveals a lot about my emotions to others." She released the spell, "That's why most wizards use mental control over their Lumos spells, because it reveals less about the wizard and is a stronger spell altogether requiring a bit more magic."

She stepped beside him again, "Try it again, but use your emotions to control the magic this time. And once we've done this I'll do the Wingardium leviosa with you."

RE: Someone Got Lucky
OOC: Oh I see your evil plan.

IC: Jack gulped slightly, realising what was about to happen. Now was the worst time to think about, but now that he actually had to he realised that he actually had a crush on Lilli. A crush! Shaking his head in dismay, he shakily stretched out his wand again and prepared himself for the spell, desperately trying to figure out what to do. "Lumos," he whispered, looking away. Looking back, he realised that he had been so scared about something happening that nothing had actually happened. Scolding himself, he tried again. And, despite his best efforts, once he had started he couldn't stop. For the briefest of seconds the room was filled with the deepest red.
